The Tartan was purchased from Scottish Trading. With some searching you can find websites with hundreds of Tartans illustrated. And from some you can buy sample swatches. There appear to be three mills in Scotland weaving the plaids. Tartan with the same name may look a bit different from one mill to another. The material I used is 13.5 oz. for a running yard 54" wide. This is sometimes called "double wide" as the original hand crafted material was made on a loom 27" wide.
The trimmer has sprayed the fabric with some kind of magic dirt repellent--we will have to see how well it works. Because of their porosity I have found cloth covered seats to be cooler in hot climates. I am in Southern Arizona.
