We had a used XJ8 my ex kept when we divorced. We've stayed good friends over the last 10 years so I got periodic reports on what was up with the car. I believe it was a 2000, maybe 01/02, cant recall. We had the rear diff replaced under warranty at under 30k. The motor had been a factory replacement at about 18k, we bought it shortly thereafter. Throttle body was replaced under warranty at under 30k. After that it was reliable and a great driving car. I was under the impression the transmissions were "not serviceable" and hers bit it at around 80k after we split. She dumped the car at that point. The repair on the trans was going to cost about what the car was worth.
