i'm a motor head, so i'll be in something different. always like vintage 4x4's..maybe a BMW 2002, or buy the Datsun 2000 i found in a barn.

and i'll stick around. where else will i find experts about vintage 4x4's, 2002's and Datsuns?
I always though you were in the city of SF? Home pricing is going nowhere but up (I don't know exactly where you are?), so I am with you on this, hang on to it and rent it. I bet you will come out ahead. Can you rent the house to someone but keep the garage to store junk? I know lots of people do that when storage is an issue in the big cities. I bought my neighbor's home last year and my plan is to rent it but keep the garage for my 993 I bought a little over a year ago. My car has been sitting in this guy's shop for most of that time getting some "stuff" done. Thank goodness he's not a full time wrench so the price I pay to have things done is part of storage.

My vote is to keep the car. A old 4X is cheap compare to old 911s and that can be had anytime. I love old 4x4s too. Dang Widebody keep showing photos of his Umimog. I really, really want (insert that photo of the raccoon). Take your time looking for that new home. It will come.

If you ended up not selling to the current guy, an old client, set designer for Ellen DeGeneres show, is looking for a clean air cool 911. He's giving his 997 to his boy friend. He had a 77 Targa and like the older cars better.
