I agree with you with the paintwork. Most first attempts at home I have seen are usually pretty flat looking paint jobs (mine included). I have a little bit more experience on the paint side, although I was primarily an artist, and did not do a lot of the clear coating, etc.

As for the overspray, I found the clear is a pain, but the worst was when I sprayed a helmet with a very heavy blue metal flake, and I had glitter through the garage for years afterwards (different garage of course).

As for the spray booth, I have something up my sleeve...
