My 8 year old son Motoki has his own Kart, unfortunately I am not so lucky. But occasionally I get to borrow a kart for a few laps and chase him around. He's gotten very fast and knows the course really well.
The track is definitely a good place for families to spend time. We've made friends with another family (they have 5 kids!) and they all come and hang out.
Their oldest boy is the same age as my son, so it makes the experience a lot more fun for both of them to have someone their own age and level to practice with.
We decided that having a teacher is the best way for him to learn the fine details of kart racing, this includes maintenance as well.
Our two year old is getting in on the action now too!
