I still don't know what happened that day in Barcelona when he won - and held off Alonso (was it?). Perfect storm of tire and setup ? The guy spent longer in feeder series "repeating classes" than I did in school. I'm sure he can drive, they all can, but he never was good enough to win on talent. Yet he got one. That bugs me, it puts him the same category as Jean Alesi, a guy who had more driving talent in his pinkie than all of Maldonado.
Yeah the tap is closed for sponsorship. Venezuela is in trouble, the gov't can't spare the cash, especially with oil selling this low. So something good is coming out of the oil-recession. Magnussen gets another shot... The kid is good - not sure why McLaren torpedoed him.
