Way back in '68 we had gas wars, stations would compete to see who had the best price on gas. Now they tout how cheep their hot dogs are. In 1968 you could get 97 octane for 27 cents a gallon and they'd give you a free glass to pour your beer into - but you couldn't buy beer at the gas station. The Savings and Loan would give you a toaster for opening a savings account. Ah, the good old days.
