A guy approached us to do a story on a truck he bought from BJ.
The guy swore it was a factory stock, special order truck, but admits all he knows about it is what he was told by BJ when he bought it.
It was a '62 Chevy, short bed half ton camper special. 409 four barrel motor, factory air conditioning (with rotary compressor), it did have a vintage Harrison radiator decal on a window. Guy paid $60gs for it.
In case that description didn't ring any bells, the camper special was a fancied-up 3/4 ton truck. That's what made it "special." Chevy records show no 409s going into 1/2 ton trucks in 1962. Air conditioners used piston pumps in those days. And the pièce de résistance, the casting number and serial number on the engine block show that it's a 348, not a 409. Poor guy got hosed big time.
