My dad had it done when I was really little, like around 1976. It was the first time I ever saw him without a mustache, as he had to shave it. They gave him a very painful injection in the tip of his nose before breaking it. He had a cast on his nose for a while. I think it was pretty rough, but he said it was well worth it.
