Shaun, as impressed as I am with your ability, I would be genuinely amazed if you succeeded at swapping in a modern Maserati engine into anything. They are so ECU dependent and networked with other car systems that it is a monumental undertaking.
I had a 2003 Coupe Cambiocorsa with the F1 gearbox and hated it. With a Tubi exhaust it sounded epic and the engine was fantastic, but the rest of the car was crap. Balky and jerky gearbox, numb steering, soft handling, fragile interior. It looked and sounded great but I typically chose to drive my RX8 instead. As for maintenance and parts prices, they are OMG expensive. Many parts come from Italy and much of the service requires the proprietary computer, such as changing F1 clutches every 25k.
