Some of our newly forming Chump Team spent the weekend with an old racing buddy who has an incredible shop building the cage for a $200 914 one of our guys picked up a few months ago. We have a few Chump and Lucky Dog racing dates on our calendar. The car still needs a lot of work but we got 90% of the cage finished. Dave, the shop owner, has an expert welding buddy who lives down the street did the important, keep us from getting crushed welding.
Dave has a barn find 1930 Stutz in there, an MGA, Healey 100M, several custom builds around his place including mid engine Bugs, a racing Ghia, a Frankenstein Alpine with a built 302, Ford Hot Rod truck, a 1990 Corvette with a bunch of go fast parts on it he is selling, a Mini, 2 914 projects, the list goes on. His shop is a fully equipped machine shop and bigger/nicer than his house. I need him to adopt me.
He has a BMW R90/6 with some S parts on it, very low original mileage, runs but will need a refresh if anyone is looking.
