In your experience, at what sort of power level do you need to think about modifying the stock 964 C4 drivetrain?
Full remanufacturing (synchros, sliders, gear teeth, bearings, etc), upgrade to both LSDs, billet side cover plate, modify for trans cooler, etc. Front diff remanufactured, too.

At what power level do these fail? Good question.
20 years ago ANDIAL put a 962C engine into a C4 and detuned it to 550hp, thinking that's the safe limit of the 964 AWD system.
I know where that car is now and the owner says he's had the power increased some more, still no issues with the 964 C4 AWD.

Thanks!
Though to give credit to several other RWB owners out there, there are others with a healthy dose of performance:
"Clermont" from Atlanta has a built 3.8RS making ~355hp flywheel
A 993 is running a Rothsport 3.8L or 3.9L RS/RSR with ITBs, so 390-400hp flywheel
Several guys in Thailand and Japan built these on Turbos and have upgraded headers, turbos, intercooler, cams, etc. Some have EFI.
And at least two cars are running built LS engines, one of them with Kinsler ITBs. Torque with a capital "T"!
