So you're saying that the $450 estimate to clean the carbon out of my Altima's clogged throttle body was possibly not a real thing?
My personal experience with dealerships is that the more pedestrian and "reliable" the make, Toyota, Honda, Nissan the bigger scumbags they are. Don't get me wrong, my FIL paid $4200 for a set of tires on his Panamera recently, but these other places seem to be much worse considering the average customer demographic.
A buddy of mine recently sent his wife's Pilot in for an oil change, and received a $3900 estimate of "immediately required repairs". When he called I asked the same Qs the OP did, then told him to be mean and never return
