Air cooled 911s are lighter than the later water cooled cars but since the very beginning of the 911 they got faster each model. We had one section of track that was just a slightly curved straight. I was just getting to the red-line in 3rd and I heard one very fast driver in a Cayman S say they were almost ready to shift into 5th. The HP to weight ratio is not in my favor. One guy had a 911 Turbos S with 620 HP wheel HP on the dyno. That is right at 3 time my HP.

In the end as I have said many times, I can't care less about super fast times. I go to have fun. It is nice to see the times and see the speed improvement for the different things I try. My slowest run was when the rear end broke loose in the horseshoe. Wagging the rear end like a puppy's tail is not the fastest way through I can promise.

The new tires are just totally different. The 15 inch old M&S rated tires would approach their limit and then give up with no real warning. The new tires are way more predictable and the limit was way higher especially under braking. I know I was giving up a second or more braking early going into the horseshoe. That is better that going off track.

Good Monday morning everyone.
