That company that had the long answering machine messages finally got back to me. They had two prints that we needed mounted and laminated with dry erase laminate. They called back and they decided they are afraid of the job.
He said they even had the technical representative for the equipment there and they decided it was too risky and they would likely ruin the prints.
They normally print their own images and laminate them but we printed this one because it is a photo of Downtown OKC at super high resolution. There are no pixels that a human can see without a high power magnifying glass and then you have to look real close. They can't print an image at that resolution with their giant printer. The image is 3.6 GB and we print it at 720x1440 PPI as a 44x50. We could make it a lot bigger but that is the space on the customer's wall.
So after having the job for a week they call and say they don't want to try and they will bring the prints back to us.
The guy that I used to work with and who normally does it for us was out of town so we we tried plan B. He is back in tow and we are back to plan A. Our client is not happy with the delay but there is nothing we can do but wait.
