What do you mean by engine 'code' number ?

There are essentially 2 numbers which identify a 911 engine - both can be found to the right hand side of the fan assembly :

the engine serial number which from '69 - '81 was seven digits beginning with a 6 then from '82 - on it was 8 digits (as earlier but with a letter inserted after the first two digits) eg 62P12345

& the engine type number which will be in the format

901/xx
911/xx
930/xx or
M64/xx


Check your number(s) again & post them here & we'll tell you what you bought.

Incidentally, why did you buy it if you didn't know what is is ?
