Unplugging the landline is no option, will never do as long as it is available.
We have not received any such calls since the laws where made more restrictive some years ago (in Germany), but they might take up the calling again when they find ways to get around them.
I sometimes asked them for theire invoice address because I will send them an invoice for the time they are stealing. *click*
In Sweden it is legal to make contracts via the phone which I find very disturbing!
Some companies record the call, cut together words and single parts to form a "Ja" ("Yes") which means you agree to theire offer.
In Sweden I usually just hang up the phone without saying anything.
Annoying *******s! I dont care if they are poor students or other minorities. Thats not my problem.
