When my I moved here my next door neighbor had a new Honda Accord. About once ever two months she would drive from here to Dallas (all highway) to visit her Mom. Otherwise she just did normal around town stuff. She always rented a car to drive to Dallas. Not to keep the miles off, but because she thought it would cause unnecessary repairs. I told her several times that the highway miles on a car like that would actually keep it running better and because it was all highway miles were almost negative miles. It wasn't until the last new car she got as she started NOT renting a car for the trip. It was because she had it serviced at the dealer and when it had some tuning problems they told her it needed some highway driving done.
They also told her she needed her ducting moved to the attic instead of under the slap because there was gravel in the bottom of the Plenum. They told her it was getting water in it and had rusted out the plenum. My ducts are dry as a bone and the plenum has gravel in the bottom. ALL the houses in the neighborhood have a gravel bottomed plenum!
God must take care of those kind of people as she inherited a LOT of money when her Dad passed to pay for the cost of gullibility.
The only real problem I've had is she teaches first graders. She came over and took the HUGE toad that sat on my porch eating bugs that came to the porch light. Without even asking she took it to show the kids in her class and one of her kids killed it. He was almost a foot around, huge! It really did take car of a lot of bugs. I could toss a pebble in front of him and he would suck it up with his tongue, bat his eyes, then spit it out. Never did name him though.
One evening soon after she was sitting in her porch swing and went to say hi. As it got dusk she said she was going in because of the bugs, that when I told her I used to have a huge toad that ate mine. That's when she told me she killed my toad.
At our other house our garage had a singe light over the middle that we kept on at night. Every summer night there would be these two big toads one sitting in each corner of the garage door. But they never got nearly as big as the toad that sat under my porch light here. Haven't seen any other toads take it's place either.
