Did you do a compression and/or a leak-down test before you started working on your engine? It'd be interesting to compare before and after values.

Yes I am encouraged with the condition, we'll see what Ollies's has to say as I am no expert on these matters! I did a compression test and have those numbers but I should have done a leak-down to really give me some info. Well it's apart now!
