The problem where I work is that the home computer support staff used to be me and one other IT guy. He would help other employees with their computers for a free dinner. And he would bring me along when they had macs instead of PCs. I was really happy when everyone started going to the applestore genius bar. I don't have to keep my bag of all versions of system disks and tools any more.

He was a machinist when I was and we got together playing with computers back in the days of dialup and compuserve. There wasn't even AOL yet. He really liked going and helping other employees with their computer as a hobby long before he ever got hired into the IT department.

Sorry to say he has passed away. He had a benign lump in his gut that was giving him digestive problems. They went in and took it out, but he never woke up from the anesthetic.
