It also depends where we are talking about. I recently did the entire carpet set in my '86, and used 3M Yellow spray adhesive for most of it, along with some Weldwood contact cement at the A pillars, tops of the door pocket pieces, etc. I don't think which adhesive you use is all that critical for most of it, just use one that dries reasonably quickly, and make sure to get good coverage so it doesn't pooch out in spots. Also, make sure to have very good ventilation, the fumes from the adhesives are pretty noxious.
