The old man founder of the company I work for once told me...If you drink alcohol before you are 40, you are foolish. If you don't drink alcohol after your are 40, you are foolish.

That subject came up when I smelled alcohol strongly on his breath while doing some product photography with him. Said it that was the recommendation by his doctor and he always took a couple of shots every day since he was over 40. He lived to be 97 years old. After that instead of occasionally smelling alcohol, I smelled chocolate.

I know it was an issue with him as his wife passed from complications due to her alcoholism.
