On the 900 Series cars Porsche didn't glue the carpeting down to the tunnel or to the floor pieces of carpeting. (The 4 "mats" if you will)
It makes sense as they are more easily removed for future access to the tunnel and also for cleaning or replacement.
I have done a couple full carpet installs plus repairs on client vehicles.
The 77 is ok, a little more professional is the 3M 08088 General Trim Adhesive. Still a "convenience" can. Nozzle gives some control for the spread of adhesive. It's also a stronger bond than the 77.
For areas like gluing down the rear seat cushions I use the 3M Yellow Super Trim Adhesive 08090.
DAP contact cement on door pockets and other vinyl/leather trimmed areas. Esp. at edges where you want a strong bond right away.
Can be purchased at your FLAPS or other supply stores. Around $20.00/can. 2 should more than do 'ya.
