I have finally transplanted a 16v engine into my 924S. Lots of things I still need to hook up but most of it is obvious.
The thing I need help with is the ignition control module wiring. I've found enough data on the 9 and 14 pin connectors (by the brake booster) to figure out all but a few of the wires. I haven't been able to find any wiring diagrams for the 944S engine.
1: The green wire in the connector by the brake booster is for the ignition system on both engines. Is this a simple case of connecting the green wire from the 944S harness to the green wire in the 924S harness, or is something else required because of the ignition control module of the 944S?
2: Pin 12 on the 944S connector is a red 12v line from fuse #7. Pin 7 on the 924S is a red/black 12v line from the ignition switch. Do these go together?
3: I don't have the ignition control module or see any plug for it on the 944S engine harness. Where exactly does it plug in? Does it have its own short harness to tie into the engine or chassis wiring somewhere?
4: Separate issue concerning the long black connector under the dash for the gauges...will that need some rewiring as well to make the gauges work properly?
I'm also curious if it's possible to eliminate the ignition control module from the 944S ignition system. And if it makes any difference, the engine has an S2 intake.
