I split it into two parts so they appear larger - hope it all makes sense to you. As stated you will need the ICM. I gather you are using the 16V ECU (DME unit), as the 8V one will not work.

BTW, the ICM is mounted on the inner wheel arch just behind the driver side headlight, it has a small cable harness that joins into the main engine bay wiring. I assisted in the wiring-up of a 16V into and 8V 944 a while back, and have a 16V S at the moment, so have some experience.
When you wire up the ICM, you should use a shielded cable as shown on the diagram, failure to do that would prove problematic due to unwanted electrical noise causing poor running.
