I picked up a factory airbox this winter, and cut it down so only the frame to hold the filter, and the clips remained. I used the pics of fabspeeds piece to guide my dremmel.

It's got a bit more burble at WOT, and it makes working in the engine bay a lot easier. Other than that... nothing. I even suspect it may be SLOWING down my car.

I paid $60 for the experiment, and don't really regret it. If I'd laid out the $$$ for the fabspeed part I'd be disappointed.

FYI-> Car is equipped with factory chip, factory heat X, euro pre-muffler, GHL single in dual 3" out, and a K&N filter (yeah I know, but it came with the airbox).
