As pointed out, all turbo and "S" models were still 996s in 2005. I drove a mint, stock 996 C4S back when I had my 996 and it felt like a barge in comparison. Really heavy and slow. Nice looking, though.
I just passed on a pretty nice 2009 997.2 6-speed coupe, 72k miles, one owner and absolutely loaded silver/black for $32k asking last week. That's a direct injection late 997. Just as a point of reference.
