Lovely cars... I'd get an S if possible, used it's not that much of a difference anymore, but it's more torque. Mine did a water pump at 40K mi, and 2 coolant caps... All in all <$1000 over 3 years and surprisingly easy to work on ! 2 of my friends lost their engine though: one 07, one 08 to IMS issues. One was a track junkie, the other not at all... So i would take the 1% with a grain of salt and possibly purchase aftermarket insurance if you feel your luck is rotten ;-) Personally I am out of the 05-08 market until a solution is found, but I think the Cayman S (mine was 06) was my favorite of all the cars I've owned - sublime handling ( only blemish was an annoying gas pedal at low revs giving you too little or too much revs and making perfect take offs harder than any other porsches I drove).
