I just realized I didn't update this thread on how I got around this issue,

First I had the crank grinder outfit I use submersion weld the step in the nose of the cam, the small amount of porosity is no issue. They then ground it back to size.
I also had them cut off the adjuster drive and power steering drive. IIRC they only charged me $80 in total.

Now great, but I still need a woodruff key slot. I got a cutter from china, but figured that's not going to work as the cam material is hard as hell, dang....what to do?

So I experimented with a few dremel grinding stones, found one that would cut the hardened cam material. I then dressed a couple of stones to the size I wanted with a diamond dresser.
Then with my good old lathe and slide from a Taig lathe I made a jig to hold my air die grinder. I chucked the cam in the lath and made a simple block to index the cam on the cams corresponding index blocks.
Then I painted the cam ends with some Dykem blue, marked the keyway and had at it.

cut off adjuster drive.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.
