It's the job of the Crown to prepare and vet the witnesses. They did neither. They were lazy and thought they had a slam dunk.

She was not ready for what she faced. Blame her lawyer, the police and the Crown.

Ladies are going bat poop about this. protesting, screaming rape culture.
They are saying the victim is on trial and that should be changed, basically they want special rights as victims.
Although I agree this sucks, at the moment that's how the court of law works and I have no clue how you could fix this issue.
How do you have the right to face your accuser if they have special rights?
This case in a nutshell, 3 witnesses all of the omitted the fact the tried to contact the guy to get dates etc after the fact. Two had thousands of emails between themselves (after the fact) about him and again they omitted to tell this to the crown (DA). One was even sending sexy pics to him again after the fact.
So basicly the prosecution was totally blindsided. Both the cops and the prosecution were incompetent with their homework.
His lawyer did her job.
Plus I never figured how they got a sexual assault charge out of this. The sex was consensual, it was the "donkey punch", choking, etc. during sex that was assault.
Not defending this guy, personally I think he's a POS, BUT you can't run a justice system on emotion. I know the system is flawed, but it's the best we got right now.
