mid to upper 20s MPG
No wagons
new or used $40k or less
DIY maintenance
reliable and not a crazy cost of ownership
15k miles a year mostly highway
comfortable and supportive seats
safe and quiet inside
not flashy
no mushy or floating rides
I also like the VW Touareg TDI
