well joe, the thing of it is.......this guys post about blasting by a parked car at WOT, 5000 rpm while passing, what is in fact, not a "static" slalom pole, but a very dynamic car driven by a human. A human that may not be paying attention, texting.....distracted. Only during the stated event did he become aware that there were children in very close proximity. Sometimes situations are not what we understand them to be. It is at this point, I would believe most would take a few days to reflect and say to themselves..."damn. I should maybe be a little more cautious." This guy gets online and post about it in a braggadocios manner.
Now, some say he did nothing wrong. He says he didn't break the law or whatever. What gear was he in? 3rd? Well, that's anywhere in the 'hood of what? 70, 80 mph? Yeah that's probably speeding. Then consider the scenario if something had gone wrong. Prius drifts, contact is made.....worst case one or more of the kids is killed. Extreme scenario? perhaps. But it does happen.
And in this "worst case" scenario, our Bafoon is now potentially looking at doing serious time if it is found he acted in reckless manner with disregard to other's safety.
Oh, BTW, Bafoon.....a little research here shows this is not the first time you have posted about how you drive, nor is it the first time you have been called on it by other forum members. Your own descriptions of the manner in which you drive (really kind of boring compared to my exploits, right?) at times is a manner in not complete control. You may argue that drifting and sliding on public roads in the rain is acceptable because....I don't know? You are some kind of expert, etc, etc....But I guarantee you, when it comes to the matter of public record....it's another story.
Which bring us to where we are now.....public record. Keep that in mind.
As far as feeding the trolls Joe? I have never known this type of stuff to be posted in the tech forum, much less anywhere I am aware of on PP. By not calling this sort of behavior out, we are in fact encouraging it. I wouldn't want our tech forum to become like many of the other car forums out there today. We are better than that, and I believe it will take active participation from like minded members to keep it like that..
