Primary Grounds -
Been out of pocket for a while on another project - a friend's nice 87 928 was hit at a red light and we've been trying to sort out a running battle with his insurance company. Of course they want to total it out and basically give him what he spent on his tires. I'm sure the insurance adjusters are only doing what they are being told but - Mercy What a Crock !
Hey 4c - I agree with Airtek - It appears that the wires you have pictured are the ground connections that go between the engine block and the fuel and ignition computers. Both the wiring terminal lugs should easily reach a couple of small bolts along the right cam cover.
To avoid all kinds of hard starting and/or intermittent run problems.... make sure to inspect all your primary ground connections 1) the main negative battery cable to the rear hatch chassis contact point 2) the main short jumper cable between the lower right side of the engine block and the chassis contact point 3) the brown harness wires (you found) between the fuel/ignition computers to both the firewall and the right hand cam cover AND 4) all the chassis ground contact points just above the passenger foot well fuse/relay panel.
Good Luck, Michael
