As a 944 owner for over 12 years (1985.5) it is not worth the money nor the effort by your organization to get the car in decent enough running order to make any profit! This is a Porsche and parts will be costly and labor will be high unless you have skilled mechanics to get this car back to standard. Your better off advertising the car for parts or as a "father-son restoration project". These early 944's suffered from issues such as: motor mounts (most upgraded to the turbo mounts), cracking headers (cast iron), A-arm rebuilding, oil cooler seal deterioration (check the oil dip stick and see if the oil looks like chocolate milk - IF SO that means oil is in the antifreeze and vice-a-versa as the seal on the oil cooler is gone). Engine needs work! Rubber center clutch deterioration, torque tube bearing noise, warped radiator expansion tanks, etc, etc, etc, etc. You will find yourself throwing good money after bad as probably did the owner who brought it over to you. IF HOWEVER, your congregation might have mechanics and the time to donate to get it running and working, it can be a fun project. Many nationwide vendors selling Porsche parts and all competitive so you can find deals. These cars are for sale as "beaters" everywhere and you can get lucky and find a good parts car cheap. This board (go to the 944 BBS) can provide valued assistance if you pursue the repair and restoration challenge.

Good luck
