Nice car, Wil! I'm envious of your Sport Chrono package (that sounded dirtier than I meant it...).
Since this thread was active, I have ordered and installed an ECU tune from Sidney (porsche4life) at Vivid Racing. I received the OBD port and USB connector on Wednesday, read the ECU on my car yesterday around 6PM, and emailed it to Vivid Racing to be modified and get the tuned file back. I had it in my mailbox by 9:30PM. Needless to say, I decided to drive the Porsche into work today so I can see what a difference the tune made.
First impressions: I didn't get a chance to drive it as spiritedly as I would have liked because the road was wet and there was morning commute traffic, but what I noticed right away was how much more immediate the throttle response is; there's no more lag to inputs at low- and mid-range. Everything feels more direct, and that's a good thing. I also feel like there's more power at midrange, but I'll probably have to wait until I get a dry day on my favorite back road to know for sure.
In any case, tuning these cars, you really see how the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts: you don't see a huge difference installing either the IPD plenum & GT3 throttle body, exhaust, or an ECU tune alone, but together they make a much sharper, quicker, more responsive sports car. My car has gotten gradually better, but I bet that if I drove a stock Cayman S back-to-back with my now-tastefully-modified car, the difference would be night and day.
