This one is new to me and just crushes me.
I am not big on the "Greatest Generation" hype
- Greater than the Lexington, Concord Valley Forge Patriots who gave birth to this country ?
The Civil War generation who settled the West ?
The Vietnam Vets who fought there, and then here after ?
(and the rest in all other conflicts)
Those men and women, the things they went through, the things they had to overcome.
My uncles, and old friends of mine who were there...
The scale of this for the WW2 generation...but I can only imagine for those involved it is the same for all.
The humanity of it all just crushes me and my respect for those who suffered mostly quietly is so humbling - and time cannot diminish any of it but how lucky we are that we have something like this to remind us of where we come from - and the cost.
