I feel like I've really developed a good idea about what the ECU tune has done for the car now that I've driven it for a whole day. Besides more-immediate throttle response, there's definitely more mid-range torque on-demand, which is an area that the NA flat-sixes can definitely use. A couple of times, I ended up behind a slow car in a passing zone, and realized that I could just give it some gas in 3rd instead of having to downshift to 2nd. If I tried to pass at, say, 40mph in 3rd without downshifting before, it would sort of bog down the engine. It just makes the entire powerband more useable -- you don't have to keep it above 5000RPM anymore.

Again, it's obvious to me that tuning these cars is all about "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts". I would love to drive my car back-to-back with a stock 987.1 Cayman S some day just to see how much my gradual improvements have helped the car.
