I had the same question in mind..... Powered by the 3,0 CIS motor; these were considered not too long ago as not much more than the precursor to the 911SC and priced with a small premium. I do not understand this value at all....... They are nice cars but as exceptional performance wise as a 964 RS american is to a 964 or a 87 thru 89 Club Sport to a standard G50. They did have perhaps one of Porsche's best engine blocks which many considered the foundation of the finest RSR racing motors.
Personally, I think they got caught in the run-up of another relatively mild performer, the 74 thru 75 2,7 CIS USA Carrera. These cars should not be confused with the MFI cars produced at the same time....
