That's one of the reasons I liked the 968 sport seats. They were easier on the ingress egress. Not quite so big side bolsters.
Gave the 944 sport seats to Brian. They didn't need it but he had them recovered blue to match is 944 Turbo.
Haven't had any golf ball problems with any of the Porsches I've owned, sport seats or not.
When the problem started I had both the Passat and a BoxsterS and the black 944 Turbo. Before and after the Passat pain, drove the BoxsterS on long trips without any problems. Even drove the Boxster to Wichita KS to buy the 944 Turbo and drive the 951 home.
The one grateful thing about the severely irritated nerves cause by the Passat was that I was able to determine if a seat was going to be a problem or not within about 15 to 20 minutes of test drive.
There was only one dealer that wouldn't let me test drive their cars. The local Dodge Chrysler dealership. They were idiots. They said if I wanted to test drive a car to go rent one. Told them they would not be selling me a car because I was not paying to rent a car to see if I wanted to buy it.
Most of the dealerships understood my problem and offered to let me have the car overnight. Took most back after 15 to 20 minutes. The only one I kept overnight was the Saab and that's because I got it late in the evening and Sam, the owner of the Saab dealership drove my Passat home to see if it hurt his butt. He said it did.
The BMWs sport seats, and the Cayenne have lumbar adjustment. And it was an option on the 928 but never messed with them as it never was a problem. Understand that some of the 944 guys were putting mouse pads under the padding in the seat backs to improve lumbar support.
Usually like to make a pit stop every 200 miles or less at the nearest major city to get out, walk around, take a bathroom break, and replenish the drinks and snack options. Just to keep from getting road hypnotized. When trippin to Rolla Mo I pit in Joplin which is the 200 mile halfway point. If going to Dallas I always stop at the Love's in Ardmore, again halfway but not near 200 miles. Going to Austin I stop in Ardmore and some little town south of Dallas that has the farthest south Braums so I can take Braums Cherry Limeade Ice Cream to my friends wife in Austin. Last time going to Austin I also stopped at some truck stop in the middle of nowhere and got "The Worlds Best" Knishes.
