China is where Japan was in the early 1960's. Made in Japan is a mark of quality now. Also, we aren't too worried about being wiped out economically by the Japanese now, are we? The same holds true for China. The US can compete with anyone (partly because we are "everyone' -- every ethnic group in the world lives here). If we can protect our education system from the short-sighted politicos who want to cut taxes all the time, we'll be fine.
