Tru dat. On snow covered driveways with an uphill grade you cannot get out without defeating the ESP, need to allow tirespin when traction is that low. A previous poster said he had his car 45 degrees sideways before electronics saved him. My experience is that ESP will have you understeering straight off the road if you enter a corner too fast on snow. I like to drift around tight corners in the winter, mind you only going 30 mph or so. I forgot to turn off ESP and entered a corner expecting to apply throttle and rotate thru the corner. Understeer... more gas... still understeer.... straight into the ditch at 15 mph. ESP would not allow any acceleration once it detected the front wheels were slipping. So for winter driving (which is half the year up here) I defeat the ESP. But that is at lower speeds on very slick surfaces. Going around a corner sideways is not the fastest way around a track, backwards even less so.
