Sweet. HD 3/4 ton, I think.
I learned to drive in a '51 F-1 1/2 ton. There was a blazin' 100 HP in that Flathead 8... I got it up to 90 once on Hwy. 9 going down a slight grade... I didn't realize until later on in life that I was undoubtedly risking my life. No seatbelts, plus... what if a tire had blown?
Lots of rattles.
Old man bought it for less than $200, IIRC... it had been a grocery store delivery truck in Rockingham, NC I think.
He and I would go to pick up hay for my sister's horses and we'd pack that bed 2-4 feet higher than the cab with those bales. It had truck tires all the way around on 16" wheels... larger tires on back. It was pretty squirrely when loaded up that much.
