It's not easy being green: '74 911 yard find

It is about time I introduce myself and my 1974 Ice Green Metallic 911 semi-affectionately named Kermit. My dad's barber turned him onto this car (pays to wear a Porsche t-shirt when getting a haircut) which had been sitting in the owner's yard for "months". He described the car as old and green and "the top comes off". My dad and I figured it would be a rusty 914 that we would probably turn down. Instead, it turned out to be a 1974 911 that has had a lot of modifications done to it along the way. For starters the 2.7 had been replaced with a 3.2!...oh boy, this is going to be hard to resist now. SC flares were added, the trim was blacked out, spoiler, Porsche script sport seats, Momo steering wheel, 16" MSW alloys and a STACK of paperwork following the car's history came with it. There is no way we can pass this up. My dad and I decided to get into this project "halvsies" and share the expense and the FUN! A deal was struck that day and the plan began to unfold in each of our heads...how to get the thing home and how to explain it to our wives!!!
