My gauge showed 1/2 full and then ran out of gas. I cleaned and tested the sender. It was working fine. Bought a second hand gauge and it now reads what every other one reads: 4/5 full when it's full. I'm convinced that the gauge needle, like other gauges in the cluster, needs to be physically moved to it's proper position. I put a prescribed amount of gas in the tank and then set the needle to that position on the shaft. It works.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
