Hi again,

I did make an assumption that you have a new or refinished rotor. If that is the case, your new pads should make even contact with the rotors and wear off the grinding marks on the rotor evenly inside to outside. It should be evenly shiny.

I use small wire brushes, medium emery cloth and fine files to clean up brake calipers. This is mostly something to be done when pads are changed out. If you live in the north and use your 944 in the winter, it could be a maintenance job too. Road salt will make calipers stick before the pads need to be chanced out.
