My best friend in high school had a BMW 2002 tii.
I flogged the hell out of it because he let me get behind the wheel. I don't believe in driving like Grandma. It had a similar amount of power as my 914-6, but not the handling. We smoked the crap out of the tires around corners. It just slid all the way around the freeway onramps.
A little later, my uncle, who was working for Toyota in the R&D department, let me drive a prototype 16 valve OHC car. I think it was a Corolla or something - I can't remember. All I recall is that it was very small with a very revvy motor. I flogged the crap out of that thing too. I was gone for maybe 40 minutes. I sort of think that they might have had problems with the engine after that. But hey, what are prototypes for if not to find and fix bugs?
