Yes it has to be reinforced, not sure of the spec, but when I built my garage I put in something like 3' square 9" thick pads which was overkill, but gave me a lot of wiggle room.
I didn't get my lift till 10 years later so I'm glad I did it that way.

Note I just looked at the eagle lift 10K lbs and the floor spec was 4" with 3500lb concrete.
