According to 'The Star and The Laurel', E.T. Scarisbrick of Greaves Hall, had C.H. Crowe & Co. in London build a car like Count Zboroski's Chitty I by using a 1907 Mercedes Chassis, fitted with a 240hp six cylinder Benz & Cie. aircraft engine taken from a captured WWI fighter plane. Scarisbrick called the car The Benz Mercedes.
DMG, and Benz Cie. didn't come together as a company until 1926.
This car, and Zboroski's Chitty Bang Bang's were running speed trials at Brooklands in the early 1920's, as well as the Blitzen Benz built in 1910.
