A lot of dealers do this. It's just another form of fishing for offers, or doing a quick price check to see how many potential buyers they could expect to attract if they are considering buying a project to flip in the resale market.
Unless they have been sitting on a big inventory for the past 10 years, or have been asked to liquidate a private collection, dealers comb the enthusiast boards looking for cars to buy and sell - it's better than spinning your wheels on Craigslist...
