Guys, I've had my Cayenne for a week now. I originally had an '04 MB E500 4-matic sedan on order for a November delivery. About three weeks ago I was on vacation and during a lazy morning I took my 930 to the local dealer to take a look at the "pig". In person, in the right color and with the right wheels, it really did not look that bad...way better than it looked in print. I was intrigued enough to take a test drive and was extremely impressed. Let me start by saying I really can't stand SUV's and with its extreme curb weight the Cayenne will never be truely "nimble" in a sports car sense. But for what it is, a fairly large, five passenger, go anywhere vehicle, I was stunned. The sound of the new V8 is absolutely glorious, right up there with our cherished flat six, the directional stability is solid as a rock, the ride comfortable and the handling and steering feel impressive, better than my Audi A6 2.7t that I just turned in. I do believe the adjustable air suspension that I have is a must have option contributing much to the details listed above. As far as comfort goes, this is the best Porsche interior ever. It's beautifully crafted with high quality materials and very nicely styled. The standard stereo is very good and the air conditioning, even without the optional second compressor, will freeze your nuts off. To get to the point, although expensive for its type, the Cayenne is an amazingly well-rounded vehicle for the everyday bump and grind. I'm very pleased with my choice.
